Overview

Ampiclox Neonatal Drops 8ml provide the trusted ampicillin + cloxacillin antibiotic combination in a gentle suspension specially formulated for newborns. Prescribed for bacterial infections in neonates. Including skin, umbilical, chest and other susceptible infections. The combination pairs ampicillin's broad coverage with cloxacillin's strength against Staphylococcus bacteria. The dropper allows precise, tiny doses for the smallest patients. A long-established paediatric antibiotic , used strictly under a doctor's direction for babies who need it.

Ampicillin (as trihydrate) 60mg with cloxacillin (as sodium) 30mg per 0.6ml dose. Confirm strengths on product packaging.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by a doctor. Neonatal dosing is precise, commonly one dropper dose given as prescribed up to several times daily, ideally before feeds. Shake well before each use and measure with the dropper provided. Complete the full prescribed course even if the baby seems better. Discard any remaining suspension after the period stated on the label.

Do not use if there is a family or known history of penicillin allergy. Stop immediately and seek care for rash, swelling or breathing difficulty. Diarrhoea and mild stomach upset can occur; persistent watery diarrhoea needs medical review. Any unwell newborn (poor feeding, fever, floppiness, fast breathing) needs urgent medical assessment.
