Overview

Cipro-T Tablets are a prescription antibiotic combination containing ciprofloxacin and tinidazole, used to treat mixed infections caused by both bacteria and protozoa. Ciprofloxacin (a fluoroquinolone antibiotic) kills a broad range of bacteria, while tinidazole tackles protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. Together they are used for infections such as gastrointestinal infections, diarrhoea and dysentery, gynaecological infections, and other mixed infections, helping patients recover under a doctor's guidance.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet twice daily, with or after food, for the number of days prescribed. Swallow whole with water. Avoid taking it with dairy products, antacids or iron/calcium/zinc supplements, which reduce absorption (separate by a couple of hours). Complete the full course even if you feel better.

This is a prescription antibiotic. Avoid alcohol during treatment and for a few days after (tinidazole can cause a severe reaction with alcohol). Do not use in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to quinolones; seek urgent help for tendon pain/swelling, numbness/tingling, severe diarrhoea, or signs of a serious allergic reaction. Use with caution in epilepsy, kidney/liver problems and the elderly; not generally for children. May cause dizziness. Take care driving. Store in a cool, dry place.
