Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Commonly every 6 hours (four times a day) or twice daily for the modified forms, swallowed with water, ideally before food unless the pack says otherwise. Space the doses evenly and complete the full course even if you feel better after a few days, to clear the infection fully and help prevent antibiotic resistance.
Take as directed and finish the course. Common effects are nausea, stomach cramps, vomiting or diarrhoea, usually mild. Erythromycin interacts with many medicines (including some heart, cholesterol, blood-thinning and migraine medicines) and can affect heart rhythm. Tell your doctor about all other medicines and any heart-rhythm problems. Tell your doctor about liver problems. Seek advice for severe or watery/bloody diarrhoea, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice. Store below 30°C. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice.
