Overview

Leflox 500mg Tablets from Getz Pharma contain levofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic prescribed for bacterial infections including pneumonia and other chest infections, complicated urinary tract and kidney infections, sinusitis, prostatitis, and some skin and soft-tissue infections. Levofloxacin kills bacteria by blocking the enzymes they need to copy their DNA, providing powerful once-daily treatment for infections where first-line antibiotics are unsuitable. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The usual dose is one 500mg tablet once daily, with or without food, swallowed whole with plenty of water, for the course prescribed. Commonly 5-14 days depending on the infection. Take antacids, iron or zinc supplements at least 2 hours apart from Leflox, as they block its absorption. Complete the full course even if you feel better early.

Stop and seek medical advice immediately if you develop tendon pain or swelling (especially the Achilles), muscle weakness, tingling or numbness, or mood changes. Fluoroquinolones can rarely cause serious tendon, nerve and psychiatric effects. Avoid in children, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and in people with a history of tendon disorders or certain heart rhythm problems (long QT). Avoid excessive sunlight. Skin may burn more easily.
