Levobact 750mg Tablets contain levofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic prescribed for serious bacterial infections including pneumonia and other chest infections, complicated urinary tract and kidney infections, sinusitis and skin and soft-tissue infections. The high 750mg strength enables short, once-daily courses for selected infections. Levofloxacin kills bacteria by blocking the enzymes they need to copy their DNA. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The usual dose is one 750mg tablet once daily, with or without food, swallowed whole with plenty of water. Complete the full prescribed course even if you feel better. Avoid taking antacids, iron, zinc or dairy-heavy meals within 2 hours of your dose. They block absorption. Drink fluids well throughout treatment.

Stop and seek medical advice if you develop tendon pain or swelling (rarely, fluoroquinolones cause tendon rupture, especially in older adults or steroid users), tingling or numbness, palpitations or severe diarrhoea. Avoid in pregnancy, breastfeeding, children and people with epilepsy or a history of tendon problems with quinolones. May cause dizziness. Take care driving, and skin sensitivity to sunlight; use sun protection. Tell your doctor about heart-rhythm problems, diabetes or kidney disease. Store below 30°C.
