Overview

Netazox-OF Tablets (10 pack) combine two anti-infectives. Nitazoxanide 500mg and ofloxacin 200mg. In one tablet for infectious diarrhoea and dysentery caused by a mix of organisms. Nitazoxanide tackles protozoa and parasites (such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium), while ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, targets the bacteria behind acute gut infections. Together they offer broad cover when the exact cause of stubborn, watery or bloody diarrhoea is unclear. A practical prescription combination for people facing significant gastrointestinal infections.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet twice daily, after meals, for the number of days prescribed (commonly 3). Swallow whole with a full glass of water and complete the full course even if the diarrhoea settles earlier. Keep well hydrated with oral rehydration solution throughout. Avoid taking with milk, antacids or iron/zinc supplements, which reduce absorption of the antibiotic.

Do not use with known allergy to nitazoxanide or quinolone antibiotics. Fluoroquinolones like ofloxacin can rarely cause tendon pain or rupture, nerve effects and altered blood sugar. Stop and seek advice for tendon pain, pins and needles or palpitations. Avoid in children and during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless a doctor directs, and limit excess sun exposure.
