Orelox Dry Suspension 40mg/5ml (50ml) from Sanofi contains cefpodoxime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic in a child-friendly oral suspension. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Shake the bottle well before every dose and measure with the device provided. The dose is based on your child's weight, usually given twice daily, 12 hours apart, with food to improve absorption. Complete the entire prescribed course even if your child improves quickly. Store the reconstituted suspension as directed on the label and discard after the stated period.

Do not use if your child is allergic to cefpodoxime or other cephalosporins; tell the doctor about any previous severe penicillin allergy, as cross-reaction can occur. Common side effects include diarrhoea, nausea and nappy rash; seek urgent care for severe rash, facial swelling, breathing difficulty or persistent watery/bloody diarrhoea. Tell the doctor about kidney problems and all other medicines, including antacids, which reduce absorption. Separate by 2-3 hours. Use antibiotics only as prescribed to limit resistance.
