Tinidazole 500mg Tablets (4 pack) contain tinidazole, an antimicrobial that treats infections caused by certain protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. It is used for intestinal and liver amoebiasis, giardiasis (a common cause of persistent diarrhoea), trichomoniasis (a sexually transmitted infection) and bacterial vaginosis, as well as some other anaerobic infections. Tinidazole works by damaging the DNA of these organisms so they die, clearing the infection and relieving its symptoms. Often only a short course or single dose is needed. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. The dose depends on the infection, sometimes as a single dose and sometimes a short daily course. Swallow the tablets whole with water, with or after food to reduce stomach upset. For sexually transmitted infections, sexual partners may need treating at the same time to prevent reinfection. Complete the full course your doctor prescribes.

Do not drink alcohol during treatment and for at least 3 days afterwards. The combination can cause flushing, headache, nausea and vomiting. May cause a metallic taste, nausea or stomach upset. Tell your doctor about liver problems, blood disorders or nervous-system conditions. Avoid in the first three months of pregnancy unless your doctor decides it is necessary; discuss breastfeeding with your doctor. Store below 30°C.
