Zetro Suspension 200mg/5ml (15ml) contains azithromycin, a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic in a child-friendly oral suspension. It is prescribed for common childhood bacterial infections, including chest infections (bronchitis, pneumonia), throat and tonsil infections, ear infections and some skin and soft-tissue infections. Azithromycin's short, simple once-daily course. Typically just 3 days, and pleasant-tasting suspension make it easier for parents to complete a full course in young children. Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Shake the bottle well before each dose. The dose is calculated by your child's weight. Commonly 10mg/kg once daily for 3 days. Using the measuring device provided. Give at the same time each day, with or without food. Complete the full prescribed course even if your child seems better. Discard any remaining suspension after the period stated on the label once reconstituted.
Do not use if your child is allergic to azithromycin, erythromycin or other macrolide antibiotics. Tell the doctor about liver or kidney problems, heart rhythm disorders or other medicines being taken, including antacids. Separate antacids from azithromycin by at least 2 hours. Side effects can include diarrhoea, stomach pain, nausea or rash; stop and seek urgent care for severe rash, facial swelling or breathing difficulty. Using antibiotics only when prescribed helps prevent antibiotic resistance. Store below 30°C; follow label directions after reconstitution.
