Zinnat Suspension 125mg/5ml (100ml) from GSK contains cefuroxime axetil, a trusted second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic in a child-friendly oral suspension. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Shake the bottle well before each dose and measure with the spoon or syringe provided. Zinnat suspension should be given with food to maximise absorption. Typically twice daily (every 12 hours) at the dose your doctor calculates for your child. Complete the full prescribed course even if your child seems better. Store the reconstituted suspension as directed on the label and discard after the stated period.

Do not use if your child is allergic to cefuroxime or other cephalosporin antibiotics; tell the doctor about any previous severe penicillin allergy, as cross-reaction can rarely occur. Side effects can include diarrhoea, nausea and rash. Seek urgent care for severe rash, facial swelling, breathing difficulty or persistent watery/bloody diarrhoea. Tell your doctor about kidney problems or other medicines being taken. Antibiotics should only be used when prescribed. Unnecessary use drives resistance.
