Betaserc 8mg Tablets contain betahistine dihydrochloride, a medicine from Abbott used to treat Ménière's disease and vestibular vertigo. Conditions causing spinning dizziness (vertigo), ringing in the ears (tinnitus), hearing difficulty and nausea. Betahistine is thought to work by improving blood flow in the inner ear and reducing pressure in the balance organs, helping reduce the frequency and severity of vertigo attacks. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The usual adult dose is one to two 8mg tablets taken three times a day, preferably with or after food to reduce stomach upset. Improvement can take a couple of weeks and best results may develop over a few months of regular use. Keep taking it as prescribed even if benefits build gradually.

Do not use if you have a phaeochromocytoma (a rare adrenal gland tumour). Use with caution if you have asthma, or a history of stomach ulcers. Tell your doctor. Mild stomach upset, headache or nausea can occur, usually settling with food. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before use. Antihistamines may reduce the effect of betahistine.
