Vitapyn Tablets are a strong compound pain-relief medicine combining paracetamol, codeine (an opioid), doxylamine and caffeine. They are used for the short-term relief of moderate pain such as headaches, migraines, neuralgia, toothache, period pain and muscular aches that are not relieved by paracetamol alone. Paracetamol and codeine relieve pain, caffeine enhances the effect, and doxylamine adds a calming action. Because it contains codeine, it is intended for short-term use under pharmacist or doctor guidance for adults .
Directions for Use
This medicine contains codeine, an opioid, and should be used only for short-term pain relief as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take the lowest effective amount for the shortest time (generally no more than 3 days). Do not exceed the dose stated on the label, and do not take other paracetamol-containing medicines at the same time. Swallow with water. Speak to your doctor if pain is not relieved.
Contains codeine, which can cause dependence and addiction with prolonged use. Use only short-term. May cause drowsiness and constipation; do not drive or operate machinery if affected, and avoid alcohol. Do not exceed the stated dose or combine with other paracetamol or codeine products. Paracetamol overdose can cause serious liver damage. Not for children under 12, and not for breastfeeding mothers (codeine can harm the baby). Avoid in severe breathing problems. Use with caution in pregnancy. Seek urgent help in case of overdose, even if you feel well. Store in a cool, dry place.
