Overview
Relezin 2mg is a prescription muscle relaxant containing tizanidine 2mg. It is used to relieve muscle stiffness, tightness and painful spasms - whether caused by everyday musculoskeletal problems (such as neck and lower-back spasm) or by neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injury. Tizanidine works by calming nerve signals in the spinal cord, allowing tight muscles to relax and easing the associated pain. The lower 2mg strength is typically used to start treatment or for people who need gentler dosing, helping restore comfort and movement.
Tizanidine 2mg (as hydrochloride).
Directions for Use
This medicine requires a prescription. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Take by mouth with a glass of water. Treatment usually starts at 2mg every 6-8 hours, with a maximum of three doses in 24 hours; your doctor will adjust the dose to your needs. Do not stop taking it suddenly after prolonged use - the dose should be reduced gradually. Do not switch between tablets and capsules or change how you take it relative to food without your doctor's advice, as this can affect how it works.
Do not use if you are allergic to tizanidine, have severe liver problems, or are taking fluvoxamine or ciprofloxacin. Tizanidine causes drowsiness, dizziness and low blood pressure - do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you, and avoid alcohol and other sedatives. Tell your doctor about heart, liver or kidney problems and all other medicines. Not recommended in children or adolescents under 18. Your doctor may check your liver function during treatment. Store below 30°C, away from moisture and light. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
