Atrovent 250mcg/2ml Nebulising Solution (20 unit-dose vials) contains ipratropium bromide, Boehringer Ingelheim's anticholinergic bronchodilator for asthma and COPD. Delivered as a fine mist through a nebuliser, ipratropium relaxes tight airway muscles through a different pathway from salbutamol, making it a valuable add-on for moderate to severe wheeze and breathlessness. Often combined with salbutamol in acute attacks under medical care. The sterile single-dose vials make hospital and home nebulisation simple and hygienic for patients with obstructive airway disease.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Typically one 250mcg vial nebulised three to four times daily, alone or mixed with prescribed salbutamol solution. Empty the vial into the nebuliser chamber, breathe the mist quietly through the mouthpiece or mask until the chamber is empty (about 10-15 minutes). Discard any solution left in the chamber after each session.

Avoid mist contact with the eyes. It can trigger eye pain, blurred vision or worsen narrow-angle glaucoma; use a mouthpiece rather than a loose mask where possible. Caution with prostate enlargement or urinary retention. Dry mouth is common. If breathing worsens immediately after a dose (paradoxical bronchospasm), stop and seek urgent care. Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding on medical advice. Store below 30°C protected from light; do not freeze.
