Overview
Nebzmart SI 2.5ml Respules are a nebuliser solution combining two airway-opening bronchodilators. Salbutamol and ipratropium. For use in a nebuliser machine. Together they relax the muscles around the airways through two different mechanisms, giving a stronger, more complete opening of the airways than either alone. They are used to relieve breathlessness, wheeze and chest tightness in moderate to severe asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including during flare-ups. The single-dose respule is breathed in as a fine mist. A doctor-prescribed option helping people with significant wheezy breathing find relief. Confirm the actives on the pack.
Actives per 2.5ml respule: Salbutamol (as sulfate) with Ipratropium bromide. Confirm exact strengths on the product packaging.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine used with a nebuliser. Use only as directed by your doctor. Usually the contents of one respule placed in the nebuliser chamber and breathed in through the mask or mouthpiece until the mist stops, as often as prescribed. Twist open a single respule just before use and do not keep any leftover solution. Rinse the mask/mouthpiece after use, and rinse your mouth to reduce dryness. Seek urgent help if breathlessness is severe or not relieved.
Avoid getting the mist in the eyes (use a mouthpiece where possible, or a well-fitting mask), as ipratropium can blur vision or worsen narrow-angle glaucoma. Seek care for eye pain or halos. May cause a faster heartbeat, tremor, dry mouth or headache. Tell your doctor about heart problems, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma or prostate/bladder problems. Seek emergency help for a severe attack. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. Store as directed, protected from light.
