Pulmicort 0.25mg/ml Nebulising Suspension (20 respules) contains budesonide, AstraZeneca's inhaled corticosteroid for nebulised maintenance treatment of asthma in children and adults, and for croup in emergency settings. Delivered as a gentle mist, budesonide calms the underlying airway inflammation that drives wheeze and night cough. Preventing attacks rather than relieving them. Nebulised respules suit young children and patients who cannot manage inhalers, giving families an effective preventer option under paediatric or chest-specialist guidance.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Typically one respule nebulised once or twice daily via a jet nebuliser with mouthpiece or close-fitting mask, at the same times each day. Shake the respule gently before use. Rinse the mouth (and wash the face if a mask was used) after each session to prevent thrush. It is a preventer. Keep a fast-acting reliever for acute attacks.

Not for relief of an acute attack. Rinse mouth after use. Oral thrush and hoarseness are the most common effects. High prolonged doses in children warrant growth monitoring. Do not stop suddenly if used long-term. Doses are stepped down under medical advice. Caution with untreated chest infections and TB. Important in Kenya; tell your doctor about any chronic cough before starting. Store upright below 30°C in the foil envelope, away from light.
