Overview

Relvar Ellipta 200/25mcg (30 doses) from GSK is a once-daily combination inhaler delivering fluticasone furoate 200mcg, an inhaled steroid, with vilanterol 25mcg, a long-acting bronchodilator. The steroid reduces airway inflammation while vilanterol keeps the airways open for a full 24 hours, together controlling asthma (and, at other strengths, COPD), reducing day-to-day breathlessness and wheeze and lowering the risk of flare-ups. The Ellipta device makes it simple. One inhalation once a day. A trusted, doctor-prescribed preventer inhaler helping people with asthma maintain steady, long-term control of their breathing.

Actives per dose: Fluticasone furoate 200mcg and Vilanterol 25mcg (as trifenatate). Carrier: lactose (contains milk proteins).

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. One inhalation once daily, at the same time each day. Open the Ellipta cover until it clicks (this loads a dose), breathe out away from the device, seal your lips around the mouthpiece and breathe in steadily and deeply, then hold your breath for a few seconds. Rinse your mouth and spit out afterwards to prevent thrush. It is a preventer. Use it every day even when well, and do not use it to relieve a sudden attack.

This is a maintenance inhaler and does not relieve a sudden attack. Always keep a fast-acting reliever (e.g. salbutamol). Rinse your mouth after each dose to reduce the risk of oral thrush and hoarseness. Tell your doctor about heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems or tuberculosis. Do not stop suddenly. Seek advice if your reliever is needed more often or symptoms worsen. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice.
