Overview

Clobederm Ointment (15g) contains clobetasol propionate, a very potent topical corticosteroid (steroid) for the skin. It is used for short courses to calm severe, stubborn inflammatory skin conditions such as bad eczema, psoriasis and other dermatitis that have not responded to milder steroids. It works by reducing inflammation, redness, itching and scaling. Because it is a strong steroid, it is used sparingly and under medical guidance. A doctor-prescribed treatment to bring relief from severe, itchy, inflamed skin conditions for patients. Confirm the active on the pack.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Apply a thin layer to the affected skin once or twice daily, gently rubbing in, using only the small amount needed to cover the area. Wash your hands afterwards (unless treating the hands). Use it for the short course your doctor advises. Usually no more than a couple of weeks at a time, and do not use it on large areas or for longer than recommended without review.

A very potent steroid. Do not use on the face, underarms or groin, on broken or infected skin, or on children, unless specifically told to by your doctor. Avoid covering treated areas with airtight dressings unless advised. Overuse or long-term use can thin the skin and cause other side effects. Stop and seek advice if the skin becomes infected or does not improve. Use in pregnancy only on advice. Store below 25°C.
