Overview

Elocom Ointment 0.1% (15g) contains mometasone furoate, a potent once-daily corticosteroid for inflamed, itchy skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. The greasy ointment base is ideal for dry, thickened or scaly patches, sealing in moisture while mometasone calms redness, swelling and the maddening itch. Its once-a-day application and low systemic absorption have made Elocom a dermatologist favourite. Effective flare control for patients when used correctly and sparingly under medical guidance.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Apply a thin film to the affected areas once daily and rub in gently. A fingertip unit covers an area of two adult palms. Use for the shortest period that controls the flare; do not exceed the duration prescribed. Wash hands after use unless treating the hands. Do not cover with airtight dressings unless instructed.

Do not use on the face, groin or underarms, on broken or infected skin, acne, rosacea, or in children unless specifically prescribed. Prolonged or widespread use can thin the skin, cause stretch marks and suppress the body's own steroids. Use sparingly and never as a moisturiser or skin lightener. Stop and seek review if the condition worsens or signs of skin infection appear. Use in pregnancy only on medical advice. Store below 25°C.
