Overview

Elycort Cream contains hydrocortisone, a mild topical corticosteroid used to relieve inflammation, redness and itching of the skin. It is used for conditions such as mild to moderate eczema and dermatitis, allergic and irritant contact dermatitis, and reactions to insect bites and stings. By calming the skin's inflammatory response, it eases discomfort and helps the skin settle. This 15g cream is suitable for short-term relief of itchy, inflamed skin in adults and children as directed.

Directions for Use

Apply a thin layer to the affected area of skin once or twice a day, and rub in gently. Wash your hands after applying (unless the hands are the area being treated). Use for the shortest time needed, usually up to one week for mild skin conditions, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Do not use under airtight dressings unless directed.

For external use only. Do not use on the face, broken or infected skin, or in the genital area unless a doctor advises. Avoid the eyes. Not for prolonged use or on large areas, especially in young children, as overuse of steroid creams can thin the skin. Stop and seek advice if the skin condition worsens or shows signs of infection.
