Podosal Paint 10ml is a topical solution containing podophyllum resin 20% w/w, used for the treatment of warts. Most commonly external anogenital warts caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Podophyllum is an antimitotic agent: applied directly to the wart, it stops wart cells multiplying, causing the wart tissue to break down and clear over successive applications. Treatment requires careful, precise application to the wart only, protecting the surrounding healthy skin, and is best undertaken with guidance from a doctor or pharmacist. Directions for Use

Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Wash the affected area with soap and water and dry thoroughly before application. Protect surrounding healthy skin (for example with petroleum jelly), then apply the paint sparingly to the wart only. Per the approved product information, apply twice daily (every 12 hours) for 3 consecutive days, then withhold treatment for the next 4 consecutive days; repeat the weekly cycle if needed as advised. Wash hands before and after each application and keep the treated area covered as directed.

Do not use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Podophyllum can cause serious harm; do not use on bleeding warts, facial warts, moles or birthmarks, or inside the vagina, urethra or rectum. Avoid all contact with healthy skin, eyes and mucous membranes. The product is caustic; excessive application can cause burns and systemic toxicity. Not for use in children unless directed by a doctor. If severe burning, ulceration or spreading irritation develops, wash off and seek medical attention.
