Overview

Tetmosol Medicated Soap 75g contains monosulfiram, a proven antiparasitic agent used for generations across Africa in the treatment and prevention of scabies. The intensely itchy skin condition caused by tiny mites, and to help control other parasitic skin problems. Used as part of regular bathing, Tetmosol helps kill scabies mites, relieve the itch they cause and protect close household contacts from infestation. Affordable and easy to use for the whole family, it is a household staple for school-going children, shared living settings and anyone managing or preventing scabies.

Directions for Use

Wet the skin and work the soap into a rich lather over the whole body from the neck down, paying attention to skin folds, between fingers and toes, wrists and waistline. Leave the lather on the skin for a few minutes before rinsing thoroughly and drying. Use daily during treatment, typically for at least a week, or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. Treat all household members at the same time, and wash bedding and clothing in hot water to prevent re-infestation.

For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes; rinse with water if it occurs. Important: avoid alcohol during use and for at least 48 hours afterwards. Monosulfiram is related to disulfiram and can cause flushing, headache and palpitations when combined with alcohol. Do not use on broken, weeping or severely inflamed skin without medical advice. Stop use if irritation or rash develops. If itching persists 2-4 weeks after completing treatment, see a doctor. Itch can outlast the mites, but persistent symptoms need review.
