Overview

Betadine Antiseptic Solution is a trusted povidone-iodine antiseptic used to clean the skin and help prevent or treat infection. It is applied to minor cuts, grazes, burns, wounds and skin infections, and to disinfect skin before and after medical procedures. The amber solution releases iodine to kill a broad range of germs including bacteria, fungi and viruses. A 500ml bottle suits clinics, first-aid kits and home use across households.

Active ingredient: Povidone-iodine 10% w/v (equivalent to 1% available iodine).

Directions for Use

For external use on the skin. Apply the solution undiluted, or as directed, to the affected area using clean cotton wool or gauze. It can be used neat for wound cleaning or diluted for larger areas as advised. Allow to dry. Use as needed for minor wounds, or follow your healthcare provider's instructions for pre- and post-procedure skin preparation.

For external use only. Do not swallow. Avoid use on large areas, deep or puncture wounds, or serious burns without medical advice. Not recommended in thyroid disorders, pregnancy and breastfeeding, or in newborns except on medical advice, as iodine can be absorbed. Stop use if irritation or an allergic reaction occurs.
