Overview

Imdur 60mg Tablets (30 pack) contain isosorbide mononitrate 60mg in a prolonged-release form. A nitrate medicine used to prevent angina (chest pain) in people with coronary heart disease. By relaxing and widening blood vessels, it reduces the heart's workload and improves blood flow, helping prevent angina attacks. Imdur is taken regularly to prevent attacks, not to relieve a sudden one.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily, usually in the morning, swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the prolonged-release tablet. Take it consistently to prevent angina; it does NOT relieve a sudden angina attack (use your fast-acting GTN spray or tablets for that). Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Headache is common when starting and usually eases. Do not stop the medicine without advice. May cause dizziness, especially on standing (rise slowly) or when starting; take care driving until you know your response, and limit alcohol. NEVER combine nitrates with erectile-dysfunction medicines such as sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil. Together they can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Keep your fast-acting angina medicine to hand for sudden attacks, and seek emergency care for chest pain that does not settle. Tell your doctor about all medicines.
