Femiplan is a daily combined oral contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy. Start by taking the first tablet on the first day of your period or as advised by the healthcare provider. Take one tablet daily, at the same time each day, following the arrows on the pack. Finish all 28 tablets in order—do not skip days. Your period will likely occur during the 7 days you take the brown (non-hormonal) tablets. Start a new pack the day after finishing the last tablet, even if your period has not ended.Â
Who Should Not Use Femiplan: Avoid using Femiplan if you: Have a history of blood clots, stroke, or heart disease Have uncontrolled high blood pressure or liver disease Are pregnant or suspect pregnancy Consult your doctor before starting Femiplan, especially if you smoke or are over 35 years old. Important Patient Guidance:  Do not miss tablets. Missing pills may reduce effectiveness and increase the risk of pregnancy. If you miss a pill, follow the instructions in the leaflet or consult your pharmacist or doctor. Vomiting or severe diarrhea within 4 hours of taking a pill may reduce effectiveness—take another pill if needed. This medicine does not protect against HIV/AIDS or other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).Â
