Cabgolin 0.5mg (cabergoline) is a prescription medicine that lowers the body's level of prolactin, a hormone made by the pituitary gland. It is used to treat conditions caused by too much prolactin (such as certain pituitary tumours called prolactinomas), which can cause irregular or absent periods, infertility, unwanted breast-milk production and reduced libido, and is sometimes used to stop breast-milk production. As a dopamine agonist, cabergoline helps restore normal hormone levels for adults under specialist guidance.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Cabgolin is usually taken once or twice a week (not daily), with or after food to reduce nausea, on the same days each week. Your doctor will start at a low dose and adjust it based on your prolactin levels. Do not change the dose or stop without medical advice.

This is a prescription medicine. May cause dizziness or fainting, especially when standing up or at the start of treatment. Rise slowly. Tell your doctor about heart valve problems, high blood pressure, liver problems or a history of certain lung/abdominal fibrosis, as long-term use needs monitoring (including heart scans). Report shortness of breath, swelling or persistent cough. Rarely, it can cause sudden sleep onset or impulse-control changes. Tell your doctor if pregnant or planning pregnancy.
