Overview

Secutril VT 200mg Tablets (14 pack) contain sacubitril/valsartan, a modern heart-failure medicine combining a neprilysin inhibitor (sacubitril) with the ARB valsartan. This combination eases the strain on a failing heart by relaxing blood vessels and helping the body clear excess fluid and salt, improving symptoms and survival in chronic heart failure. A major advance, used under cardiology supervision.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Dosage is determined by your prescribing doctor based on your individual needs. Do not adjust your dose without medical supervision. Take as prescribed, usually twice daily at consistent times, with or without food, swallowed with water. IMPORTANT: you must have a medicine-free gap (usually at least 36 hours) when switching from an ACE inhibitor. Your doctor will manage this. Take it regularly, attend monitoring blood tests, and never adjust or stop the dose yourself.

Do not use during pregnancy, with a history of angioedema, or within 36 hours of an ACE inhibitor (serious angioedema risk). Seek emergency care for any swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. May cause dizziness and low blood pressure. Rise slowly. Potassium and kidney function are monitored; avoid potassium supplements and salt substitutes unless advised. Tell your doctor about all medicines, especially other blood pressure medicines and NSAIDs. Report persistent dizziness or fainting.
