Overview

Secutril VT 50mg is a prescription tablet combining sacubitril and valsartan, used to treat chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. Sacubitril (a neprilysin inhibitor) and valsartan (an angiotensin receptor blocker) work together to relax blood vessels, reduce strain on the heart and help the body remove excess salt and fluid. It helps reduce the risk of hospitalisation and improves outcomes in adults living with heart failure, taken as part of ongoing specialist-guided treatment.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Secutril VT is usually taken twice daily, with or without food, swallowed whole with water. Your doctor will start at an appropriate dose and adjust it gradually. Do not take it together with an ACE inhibitor, and leave the advised gap if switching from one. Do not stop without medical advice.

This is a prescription medicine. Do not use in pregnancy. Tell your doctor at once if you become pregnant. Must not be combined with ACE inhibitors (such as enalapril) or used within 36 hours of them, due to the risk of angioedema (serious swelling). Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, low blood pressure, or high potassium. May cause dizziness, low blood pressure and raised potassium; your doctor will monitor kidney function and potassium. Use caution when standing up quickly. Store in a cool, dry place.
