Overview
Spasmorid-M Tablets (30 pack) are a combination medicine for painful abdominal cramps and spasm. Typically combining an antispasmodic (such as dicyclomine or drotaverine) with mefenamic acid, an anti-inflammatory painkiller. Used particularly for period pain and abdominal cramping, the antispasmodic relaxes the cramping muscle of the gut or womb while mefenamic acid relieves the pain and, in periods, reduces heavy bleeding.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take as prescribed, typically with or after food to protect the stomach, for short-term relief of cramping pain. Do not exceed the dose, and do not combine with other NSAID- or paracetamol-free painkillers without checking. Confirm the exact composition with your pharmacist.
Contains mefenamic acid (an NSAID). Not suitable for people with stomach ulcers, certain kidney, liver or heart conditions, inflammatory bowel disease, or aspirin/NSAID allergy or NSAID-sensitive asthma; take with food and report black stools or stomach pain. The antispasmodic can cause dry mouth, blurred vision and (depending on type) drowsiness, and may be unsuitable with glaucoma or urinary retention; confirm the components. Use caution in late pregnancy. Severe, persistent or worsening abdominal pain, or pain with fever or vomiting, needs medical assessment.
