Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Ciprobay is usually taken twice daily (every 12 hours), with or without food, swallowed whole with plenty of water. Avoid taking it at the same time as milk, yoghurt, antacids, or iron/zinc supplements. Separate by at least 2 hours, as they reduce absorption. Complete the full course even if you feel better, to prevent antibiotic resistance.

Stop use and seek medical help if you develop tendon pain or swelling (rarely, fluoroquinolones can cause tendon rupture), tingling or numbness, or a severe allergic reaction. Not generally recommended in children, adolescents, pregnancy or breastfeeding unless a doctor judges it essential. May cause dizziness. Take care driving. Avoid excessive sunlight or sunbeds, as skin may burn more easily. Drink plenty of fluids during treatment. Caffeine effects may be enhanced. Store below 30°C.
