Advant 16mg Tablets (14 pack) contain candesartan, an angiotensin-receptor blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. Candesartan blocks a natural hormone that tightens blood vessels, allowing them to relax and widen so blood pressure falls and the heart's workload eases. In heart failure it helps the heart cope and improves symptoms over time. The 16mg strength is a common maintenance dose. Once-daily and well tolerated, Advant offers steady, 24-hour blood-pressure control for people with hypertension or heart failure.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, with or without food, swallowed with water at the same time each day. Keep taking it even when you feel well. Do not stop without advice, and attend regular blood-pressure, kidney and potassium checks so the dose can be adjusted as needed.

Do not use in pregnancy. ARBs can harm the unborn baby; tell your doctor at once if you become or plan to become pregnant. May cause dizziness, especially at first or on standing. Rise slowly. Can raise blood potassium and affect the kidneys; tell your doctor about kidney problems, dehydration or potassium supplements and water tablets. Store below 30°C.
