Asomex 5mg Tablets contain S-amlodipine, the active, refined form of the well-known calcium channel blocker amlodipine, used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina (chest pain). By using only the pharmacologically active S-isomer, Asomex delivers effective 24-hour blood pressure control at half the conventional milligram dose, with a lower tendency to cause the ankle swelling that troubles some amlodipine users. Asomex 5mg suits patients needing standard-intensity blood pressure control, helping protect people against stroke, heart attack and kidney complications of untreated hypertension (30 tablets).

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow whole with water. The full effect builds over 1-2 weeks. Keep taking it consistently even when you feel well, and do not stop suddenly without medical advice. Blood pressure can climb back silently.

Do not use if allergic to amlodipine or other dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers, or in severe low blood pressure or certain heart valve obstructions. May cause headache, flushing, dizziness or ankle swelling. Usually mild and settling with time; report persistent swelling to your doctor. Use caution in severe liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed. Avoid large quantities of grapefruit juice. Tell your doctor if pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Store below 30°C.
