Overview

Azarga Eye Drops (5ml) from Alcon combine two glaucoma medicines. Brinzolamide (a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor) and timolol (a beta-blocker). In one sterile drop. Both work to lower raised pressure inside the eye by reducing the amount of fluid the eye produces. Azarga is prescribed for open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension when a single medicine is not enough to control eye pressure. Lowering eye pressure helps protect the optic nerve and preserve sight. A convenient, doctor-prescribed two-in-one drop for people managing glaucoma.

Actives: Brinzolamide 10mg/ml (1%) and Timolol 5mg/ml (0.5%, as maleate). Preservative: benzalkonium chloride.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your eye doctor. Usually one drop into the affected eye(s) twice daily. Shake the bottle well. Wash your hands, tilt your head back, pull down the lower lid and instil the drop without touching the dropper tip to the eye, then close the eye and press the inner corner for one to two minutes to reduce body-wide absorption. Keep using it daily even though glaucoma usually causes no symptoms, and attend regular eye-pressure checks.

Because it contains a beta-blocker, tell your doctor about asthma or other breathing problems, a slow heart rate, heart failure or diabetes. It can rarely affect the lungs and heart. Vision may blur briefly; a bitter taste is common. Remove contact lenses before use and wait 15 minutes before reinserting. Press the inner corner of the eye after each drop. Do not stop suddenly without advice. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice. Discard 28 days after opening.
