Overview

Bifril 30mg Tablets (28 pack) contain zofenopril, an ACE inhibitor from Menarini for high blood pressure and for protecting the heart after a heart attack. Zofenopril relaxes blood vessels by blocking the enzyme that produces angiotensin II, lowering pressure and easing the heart's workload; its sulphydryl group is associated with additional antioxidant, heart-protective properties studied after acute myocardial infarction. Taken once or twice daily, it offers people with hypertension or recent cardiac events dependable, evidence-backed protection under medical care.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Typically starting at 15-30mg once daily, adjusted to response up to the prescribed maximum. Take at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not stop suddenly. Attend reviews for blood pressure, kidney function and potassium, especially in the first weeks.

Do not use in pregnancy. ACE inhibitors can seriously harm an unborn baby, or with a history of angioedema. A dry persistent cough is a known effect; report facial or tongue swelling urgently. First doses can cause dizziness. Rise slowly. Caution with kidney artery narrowing, high potassium, diuretics, potassium supplements and NSAIDs. Avoid salt substitutes containing potassium.
