Overview

Ciprointa 500mg Tablets (10 pack) contain ciprofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Ciprofloxacin treats a wide range of bacterial infections. Including those of the urinary tract, gut (such as typhoid and bacterial diarrhoea), respiratory tract, skin and certain other infections. By stopping bacteria from multiplying. The 500mg strength is a common adult dose for many infections. A widely used, doctor-prescribed antibiotic helping people recover from bacterial infections when the bacteria are known to be susceptible.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet twice daily, about 12 hours apart, for the number of days prescribed. Swallow whole with plenty of water and keep well hydrated. Avoid taking it at the same time as milk, dairy, antacids or iron/zinc/calcium supplements, which block absorption. Separate these by at least two hours. Complete the full course even if you feel better.

Fluoroquinolones can rarely cause tendon pain or rupture (especially in older people or with steroids), nerve effects, or changes in mood or heart rhythm. Stop and seek advice for tendon pain, pins and needles, palpitations or severe diarrhoea. Avoid excessive sun exposure. Tell your doctor about epilepsy, kidney problems, an irregular heartbeat or myasthenia gravis. Best avoided in pregnancy, breastfeeding and growing children unless a doctor decides it is essential.
