Overview

Cital Syrup 100ml is a urinary alkaliniser containing disodium hydrogen citrate, used to relieve the burning and discomfort of urinary tract infections and to make acidic urine less hostile. By raising urine pH, it soothes painful urination (dysuria), supports antibiotic treatment of UTIs, and helps manage mild acidosis and certain kidney stone tendencies. A simple, fast-acting comfort measure for the burning urination that commonly accompanies UTIs. Particularly helpful for women, who experience UTIs most often.

Disodium hydrogen citrate per 5ml. Confirm strength on product packaging.

Directions for Use

Adults: take 10-15ml diluted in a full glass of water, two to three times daily after meals, or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Always dilute well before drinking. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Cital relieves symptoms but does not kill bacteria. A confirmed UTI also needs the antibiotic your clinician prescribes. See a doctor if symptoms persist beyond 2 days, or sooner with fever or back pain.

Contains sodium. Avoid with severe kidney impairment, heart failure, high blood pressure on strict salt restriction, or high blood potassium/sodium disorders, except on medical advice. Do not exceed the stated dose; excess alkalinisation can upset electrolyte balance. Fever, flank pain, vomiting or blood in urine suggests kidney involvement. Seek medical care promptly.
