Overview

Claritek 250mg Tablets (10 pack) contain clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic used to treat a range of bacterial infections. These include chest infections (such as bronchitis and pneumonia), throat, sinus and ear infections, and certain skin and soft-tissue infections; it is also used as part of treatment to clear the stomach bacterium H. pylori. Clarithromycin works by stopping bacteria from growing and multiplying. A doctor-prescribed antibiotic helping people recover from bacterial infections. Antibiotics do not work against colds or flu. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet twice daily, about 12 hours apart, swallowed whole with water, with or without food. Complete the FULL course even if you feel better after a few days, as stopping early can let the infection return and encourages antibiotic resistance. Space the doses evenly and try not to miss any.

Tell your doctor about heart rhythm problems, liver or kidney disease, and ALL other medicines, as clarithromycin interacts with many (including certain statins, some heart, blood-thinning and migraine medicines). Some combinations must be avoided. Can cause stomach upset or an altered taste; seek advice for severe or bloody diarrhoea. Stop and get urgent help for signs of a serious allergic reaction (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing). Use in pregnancy only on advice. Store below 30°C.
