Overview
Combigan Eye Drops 5ml combine brimonidine 0.2% and timolol 0.5% in a single drop to lower raised eye pressure in glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The two medicines attack pressure from both directions. Reducing fluid production inside the eye and improving its outflow. Achieving greater pressure control than either alone and protecting the optic nerve from gradual, sight-stealing damage. From Allergan, Combigan simplifies treatment for glaucoma patients who need more than one pressure-lowering medicine, replacing two bottles with one convenient twice-daily drop.
Brimonidine tartrate 2mg/ml and timolol (as maleate) 5mg/ml ophthalmic solution. Contains benzalkonium chloride as preservative.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The usual dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, about 12 hours apart. After instilling, close the eye and press gently on the inner corner for a minute to limit absorption into the body. Space other eye drops by at least 5 minutes. Use every day. Glaucoma damages sight silently, and missed doses lose pressure control. Discard 28 days after opening.
Contains a beta-blocker: do not use with asthma, severe COPD, slow heart rate, heart block or uncontrolled heart failure. May cause tiredness, dry mouth or blurred vision. Assess before driving.
