Overview
Dicard 100mg is a prescription medicine for chronic heart failure, containing sacubitril and valsartan. Sacubitril (a neprilysin inhibitor) and valsartan (an angiotensin receptor blocker) work together to relax blood vessels, reduce strain on the heart and help the body remove excess salt and fluid. It helps reduce the risk of hospitalisation and improves outcomes in adults living with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, taken as part of ongoing specialist-guided treatment (the 100mg strength contains sacubitril 49mg + valsartan 51mg).
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Dicard is usually taken twice daily, with or without food, swallowed whole with water. Your doctor will start at an appropriate dose and adjust it gradually. Do not take it together with an ACE inhibitor, and leave the advised gap when switching. Do not stop without medical advice.
This is a prescription medicine. Do not use in pregnancy. Tell your doctor at once if you become pregnant. Must not be combined with ACE inhibitors (such as enalapril) or used within 36 hours of them, due to the risk of angioedema (serious swelling. Seek urgent help for swelling of the face, lips or throat). Tell your doctor about kidney or liver disease, low blood pressure or high potassium. May cause dizziness, low blood pressure and raised potassium; your doctor will monitor kidney function and potassium. Rise slowly when standing. Store in a cool, dry place. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
