Overview

Dulcolax 5mg Tablets contain bisacodyl, the world's most trusted stimulant laxative for dependable overnight relief of constipation. The gastro-resistant tablet passes through the stomach intact and works directly in the large bowel, stimulating natural bowel movement typically within 6-12 hours, so a bedtime dose brings predictable morning relief. Dulcolax is also used for bowel preparation before medical procedures under direction. Gentle when used as directed and available without prescription, it is a bathroom-cabinet standby for occasional constipation relief in households.

Directions for Use

Adults and children over 10 years: take one to two tablets (5-10mg) at night for a bowel movement the next morning. Swallow whole with water. Do not crush or chew, and do not take within one hour of milk, antacids or acid-reducing medicines, which can damage the special coating. Children 4-10 years: one tablet at night, on a doctor's or pharmacist's advice. Use occasionally only. If you need laxatives for more than 5 days, see a doctor.

Do not use in intestinal blockage, severe abdominal pain with nausea or vomiting, appendicitis symptoms, or severe dehydration. May cause abdominal cramps or diarrhoea. Prolonged or excessive use can disturb fluid and salt balance and create laxative dependence. Address diet, fluids and fibre for ongoing constipation. Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding. A sudden persistent change in bowel habit deserves medical review. Store below 30°C.
