Overview

Elocom Lotion 0.1% (30ml) from MSD contains mometasone furoate, a potent corticosteroid in a lotion form designed for the scalp and other hairy or large skin areas. It is used to relieve the redness, itching, swelling and discomfort of inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema (dermatitis) and psoriasis. Mometasone works by calming the inflammation in the skin. The lotion spreads easily and is less greasy, making it convenient for the scalp. A doctor-prescribed treatment helping people soothe itchy, inflamed skin conditions. Confirm the active on the pack.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Apply a few drops of lotion to the affected area(s) of skin or scalp ONCE a day, and gently rub in until it disappears. Use it thinly and only on the affected areas, for the short course your doctor advises (potent steroids are not for long-term continuous use). Wash your hands after applying, unless treating the hands.

Because it is a potent steroid, do not use it for longer than prescribed, on the face, or on large areas or broken skin unless your doctor directs, as overuse can thin the skin. Do not use on untreated skin infections. Stop and seek advice if the skin worsens, stings persistently, or does not improve within the time your doctor advised. Avoid the eyes.
