Overview

Exocin Eye Drops 5ml contain ofloxacin 0.3%, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic for bacterial infections of the eye. It treats bacterial conjunctivitis (sticky, red 'pink eye'), corneal ulcers and other susceptible external eye infections, killing a wide range of the bacteria responsible. From Allergan, Exocin penetrates eye tissues well and works quickly against discharge, redness and irritation. A dependable prescription antibiotic drop for eye infections seen commonly in clinics, in both adults and children as directed by a prescriber.

Ofloxacin 0.3% w/v ophthalmic solution. Contains benzalkonium chloride as preservative.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. A typical course is one to two drops in the affected eye every 2-4 hours for the first day or two, then four times daily. Your prescriber will confirm the regimen and duration. Wash hands before use, avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye, and complete the full course even when the eye looks better. Discard 28 days after opening.

Do not use if allergic to ofloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics. Not for deep or severe eye infections without specialist assessment. Worsening pain, light sensitivity or vision change needs urgent review. Do not wear contact lenses while treating an eye infection. Mild transient stinging may occur. Prolonged use can encourage resistant organisms. Use only the prescribed course. Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding only on medical advice. Store below 25°C.
