Overview
Delsia 3mg/0.03mg Tablets (21 pack) are a combined oral contraceptive ('the pill') containing drospirenone and ethinylestradiol. Taken regularly, the two hormones prevent pregnancy mainly by stopping the release of an egg each month, while also thickening cervical mucus and thinning the womb lining. The drospirenone component has a mild anti-water-retention and anti-androgen effect, which some women find helps with bloating and skin. Besides reliable contraception, the pill can make periods lighter, more regular and less painful. A doctor-prescribed contraceptive option for women. Confirm suitability with your doctor.
Actives: Drospirenone 3mg and Ethinylestradiol 0.03mg per tablet.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take exactly as directed. One tablet daily at about the same time for 21 days, followed by a 7-day tablet-free break (during which a withdrawal bleed occurs), then start the next pack. Follow your doctor's instructions on when to start and on using extra protection (such as condoms) for the first 7 days. If you miss a pill, follow the missed-pill advice in the leaflet, as missed pills can reduce protection.
The combined pill is not suitable for everyone. Tell your doctor about migraine (especially with aura), high blood pressure, a history of blood clots, certain cancers, liver disease, smoking (especially over 35) or being significantly overweight, as these affect safety. Seek urgent care for calf pain or swelling, chest pain, breathlessness, sudden severe headache, or vision changes (possible clot). It does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. Use condoms for that. Some medicines reduce its effect. Store below 30°C. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
