Overview

Flamox 500mg contains amoxicillin, a widely used penicillin antibiotic. It treats many common bacterial infections including chest, throat, ear, sinus, dental, urinary and skin infections. Amoxicillin works by killing the bacteria responsible for the infection. Finishing the full prescribed course is essential to clear the infection completely and help prevent antibiotic resistance. Supplied as a 20-capsule pack.

Active ingredient: Amoxicillin (as trihydrate) 500mg per capsule.

Directions for Use

This medicine requires a prescription. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Swallow the capsule whole with water, with or without food, usually every 8 hours (three times a day) or as prescribed. Space the doses evenly through the day and complete the entire course even if you feel better.

Not suitable if you are allergic to penicillin. Tell your doctor about any drug allergies. Use with care in kidney problems and glandular fever (it can cause a rash). May cause diarrhoea, nausea or thrush; report severe diarrhoea. It can reduce the reliability of oral contraceptives. Use additional precautions. Store below 25°C.
