Glevonix 500mg Tablets (10 pack) contain levofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic prescribed for bacterial infections of the chest (pneumonia, bronchitis flare-ups), sinuses, urinary tract, kidneys, prostate, skin and soft tissues. Levofloxacin kills bacteria by blocking the enzymes they need to copy their DNA, achieving strong tissue penetration with convenient once-daily dosing. It is reserved for infections where a doctor judges a quinolone appropriate. Responsible use keeps this important antibiotic working for patients.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Typically one 500mg tablet once daily for 7-14 days depending on the infection. Swallow whole with water, with or without food. Take at least 2 hours apart from antacids, iron, zinc or calcium products, which block its absorption. Complete the full course even when you feel better. Drink plenty of fluids during treatment.

Do not use if allergic to quinolone antibiotics, in pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in children except on specialist advice. Stop and seek urgent care for tendon pain or swelling (rare tendon rupture risk), palpitations, seizures, or tingling/numbness. Avoid strong sunlight. Photosensitivity can occur. Caution with epilepsy, heart rhythm disorders, diabetes and kidney impairment (dose adjustment). Avoid NSAIDs if seizure-prone. May cause dizziness. Assess before driving. Store below 30°C.
