Goutgesic 40 mg Tablet contains Febuxostat 40 mg which is used in the treatment of gout. Goutgesic 40 mg Tablet is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It works by decreasing blood uric acid, which is the chemical that causes gout.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Goutgesic 40 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take Goutgesic 40 mg Tablet at the same time every day, with or without food. Take plenty of fluids (2-3 litres) daily while on Goutgesic 40 mg Tablet. Taking alcohol can increase your uric acid levels and hence aggravate gout. Goutgesic 40 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy and probably unsafe to use during lactation. Goutgesic 40 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney and liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
