Overview
Momate Nasal Spray (60 metered doses) contains mometasone furoate, a once-daily corticosteroid nasal spray used to prevent and treat the symptoms of allergic rhinitis. Sneezing, runny nose, nasal itching and congestion caused by dust, pollen, mould or pet allergens, and, under medical advice, to manage nasal polyps. Mometasone works directly in the nasal lining to calm allergic inflammation, with minimal absorption into the body. For people troubled by persistent allergies, hay fever or dusty-season flare-ups, Momate offers effective 24-hour nasal symptom control from a single daily dose.
Mometasone furoate 50 micrograms per metered spray (aqueous nasal suspension), 60 metered doses. Full excipient list available on product packaging.
Directions for Use
This medicine should be used as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Shake well before each use and prime the pump before first use. Gently blow your nose, tilt the head slightly forward, insert the nozzle into one nostril aiming slightly outward (away from the middle wall of the nose), and spray while breathing in gently; repeat in the other nostril. The usual adult dose is two sprays in each nostril once daily, reducing to one spray once symptoms are controlled. Use regularly. Full benefit may take 1-2 days to build. Wipe the nozzle and replace the cap after use.
Do not use if allergic to mometasone, or with untreated nasal infections, recent nasal surgery or injury until healed. May cause nosebleeds, dryness, stinging or headache; report severe or persistent nosebleeds to your doctor. Long-term continuous use should be reviewed periodically by a doctor, particularly in children. Tell your doctor if you are using other corticosteroid medicines, or if pregnant or breastfeeding.
