Promethazine Syrup (100ml) contains promethazine, a sedating antihistamine in an easy-to-take liquid form. It is used to relieve allergy symptoms (such as itching, hives, hay fever and allergic rashes), to prevent and treat nausea, vomiting and motion sickness, and as a short-term aid for sleep, thanks to its calming, drowsy effect. Promethazine works by blocking histamine and calming the parts of the brain involved in nausea and wakefulness. Directions for Use

Take by mouth using the measure provided, following the dose and age guidance on the label or from your doctor/pharmacist. The dose depends on what it is being used for; for travel sickness it is taken before the journey, and for allergy or sleep often in the evening, as it causes drowsiness. Do not exceed the stated dose or use for longer than advised.

Commonly causes drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if affected, and avoid alcohol and other sedating medicines. NOT for children under 2 years, and not for sleep in young children. Use with caution and seek advice if you have glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, breathing problems, epilepsy or liver disease. Tell your doctor about all other medicines. Store below 30°C.
