Overview
Febo-G 40mg Tablets (20 pack) contain febuxostat, a once-daily medicine used to lower high uric acid levels in people with gout. Febuxostat blocks the enzyme that makes uric acid, gradually reducing the urate that forms the painful crystals in joints. Used for long-term prevention, it lowers uric acid to help prevent gout attacks and the build-up of tophi over time. It is not for treating a sudden flare. A modern, effective gout-prevention option for patients managed under medical care.
Febuxostat 40mg per film-coated tablet. Confirm active on product packaging.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one 40mg tablet once daily, with or without food, swallowed with water. Take it every day for long-term control. When you start, your doctor may give an additional medicine for the first weeks to prevent flares; do not stop febuxostat during an attack. Continue even when you feel well, and attend reviews of your uric-acid level.
May trigger a temporary increase in gout flares when first started. This is normal and does not mean it is failing. Tell your doctor about heart, liver or kidney disease and any serious skin reaction (stop and seek urgent care for a spreading rash with fever). Report chest pain, breathlessness or signs of liver problems (nausea, dark urine, yellowing of the eyes). Tell your doctor about other medicines (e.g. azathioprine). Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding only on medical advice. Confirm active on the pack. Store below 30°C. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
