Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Your dose is determined by your prescribing doctor and is increased very gradually over several weeks when starting treatment. Never adjust it yourself. Swallow tablets with water, with or without food, at the same time each day. Do not stop taking Lamitor suddenly, as this can trigger seizures; your doctor will reduce the dose gradually if needed.

Seek medical help immediately if you develop a skin rash, fever, swollen glands or blistering, especially in the first 8 weeks. Rarely, lamotrigine can cause serious skin reactions. The risk increases if the dose is raised too quickly or combined with valproate. May cause dizziness, drowsiness or blurred vision. Avoid driving until you know how it affects you. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding before making any changes. Store below 30°C in a dry place.
